Postdoctoral Fellow – The Stress & Affective Neuroscience Lab at NYU Grossman School of Medicine

The Stress & Affective Neuroscience Lab at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, under the direction of Dr. Candace Raio, is currently seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to join our team in the Psychiatry Department. This position offers an exciting opportunity to engage in cutting-edge research on the effects of stress on emotion regulation and decision-making and offers a unique environment to conduct translational research in populations marked by affective psychopathology.

Position Summary:
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing and conducting empirical research under Dr. Raio’s supervision, with a particular focus on neuroimaging and the computational modeling of choice behavior. This role also involves participation in an NIH-funded clinical trial examining the effects of stress exposure on decisions involving self-control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing and conducting neuroimaging studies related to stress and decision-making.
  • Performing advanced data analysis on neuroimaging and behavioral data.
  • Collaborating on the development and execution of empirical research projects.
  • Preparing manuscripts for publication.
  • Assisting with grant proposals.
  • Mentoring graduate students and junior lab members.

Qualifications:

  • A PhD in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience with neuroimaging techniques and analysis.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in MATLAB, Python, R, or similar.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong interest in affective and decision neuroscience.
  • Experience with fMRI research, computational modeling, and a strong publication record is highly preferred.
