Postdoctoral Fellow Positions – CARES Lab at Georgetown University

December 19, 2024

The Clinical Aging and Relational Emotion Science Lab (CARES Lab) directed by Dr. Casey Kenyon Brown at Georgetown University is seeking applications for postdoctoral fellows. The lab’s research investigates interpersonal emotional phenomena in connection with mental and physical health across the life course, with a particular focus on aging dyads.

Our research bridges multiple domains of inquiry, drawing from clinical psychology, social and health psychology, affective neuroscience, and aging. This is ideally a two-year position that starts as early as May 2025. The successful applicant will join Dr. Brown and an active research team, and will be involved in analyzing data and writing papers from a variety of innovative multi-method studies. There will also be ample opportunities for advanced training (Georgetown and the Washington Metro area have a number of training opportunities, covering a range of methodological and quantitative methods), collaborations (benefit from a number of active CARES lab collaborations), building mentorship experience (learning to direct and supervise research), and developing an independent research program. Significant attention will be placed on career development (e.g., regular conference attendance/participation, training in grant writing, peer review, mentorship, teaching, presentations/job-talks etc.).
