The Wu Tsai Institute (WTI), a university-wide interdisciplinary neuroscience initiative at Yale University, invites applications for multiple endowed faculty positions, at any rank<https://apply.interfolio.com/153378>. We seek outstanding applicants from a broad range of disciplines, including (but not limited to) applied math, biology, cognitive science, computer science, data science, engineering, and psychology. Fundamental principles and approaches from these disciplines will advance the mission of WTI to understand human cognition and explore human potential by sparking interdisciplinary inquiry. Successful candidates will receive a tenure-track or tenured appointment in one or more departments in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, School of Engineering and Applied Science, and/or School of Medicine. We are dedicated to hiring, mentoring, and advocating for colleagues who will foster equity and excellence in our community through their research, teaching, and service. Plans to promote these values should be an integral part of the application, backed by a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and multicultural competence in academic environments. Women, protected veterans, persons with disabilities, and members of underrepresented groups are strongly encouraged to apply. We are eager to accommodate the needs of families and welcome applications from dual-career couples to this search or combination of Yale searches.

Background: WTI was founded in 2021 by a historic gift from Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai to reveal fundamental truths about the mind through the integrated study of the brain. WTI consists of three pillars that coordinate research activities: the Center for Neurodevelopment and Plasticity, the Center for Neurocognition and Behavior, and the Center for Neurocomputation and Machine Intelligence. WTI enables interdisciplinary inquiry through fellowships for co-mentored postdocs, grad students, and undergrads; shared facilities and services with cutting-edge technologies; collaborative grants to nucleate disruptive ideas and events; and a new home at 100 College Street in New Haven. WTI integrates approaches across disciplines through common mathematical, statistical, and computational frameworks. WTI is creating an inclusive environment that confronts inequity and celebrates diverse backgrounds, identities, and perspectives.
