The Department of Psychology in the School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences (BBS) at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) is seeking to hire an open rank brain scientist with expertise in neuroimaging, specifically magnetic resonance imaging. UT Dallas maintains a state-of-the-art MRI facility within the Brain Performance Institute in the heart of Dallas equipped with two research dedicated 3T Siemens Prisma scanners capable of synchronized acquisition. BBS has a vibrant and growing MR imaging community that spans multiple centers and a growing portfolio of imaging-centered extramural funding at our Carnegie R1 institution. To increase the representation of expertise across MR modalities in the study of the human brain and behavior, we seek to recruit a faculty member to join the Department of Psychology. This hire will be affiliated with both the Center for BrainHealth and the Center for Vital Longevity and will be important for the continued growth of the imaging community within BBS and across UT Dallas. The specific area of research within psychology is open but MRI is expected to serve as a core research tool for the faculty member’s program of research and investigators studying brain health and function are highly desired. This position will contribute to coursework within the undergraduate degree programs in psychology and cognitive science, master’s in applied cognition and neuroscience programs, and PhD in cognition and neuroscience program. Teaching responsibilities would also include mentoring of doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate students.
The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.
