Lab Manager Position at Northwestern

The Child & Adolescent Translational Science lab (PI Katie Insel) at Northwestern University is hiring a lab manager to start September 1, 2024. The lab manager will work in-person in the Department of Psychology on the Evanston campus.

We are looking for a lab manager to help with behavioral and neuroimaging research investigating how the brain develops from childhood to adulthood. The lab manager will help with a NIH funded research project studying how decision-making matures during adolescence.

The lab manager will primarily help with administrative tasks and study management, including maintaining IRB protocols, participant recruitment, data collection, grant submissions, and personnel training. The lab manager will also have opportunities to conduct independent research projects, and they will be invited to attend national conferences to present their work. We are ideally looking for someone who can make a two-year commitment.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Completion of a full 4-year course of study at an accredited college or university by the start date
  • Experience working with children or families
  • Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) to accomodate child and adolescent schedules
  • Experience working in an academic research lab
  • Experience with data entry and analysis using statistical software such as R, python, Matlab, or similar tools
