Internship opportunity for neuroscience students interested in computational methods and LLMs

About Us: Censibal is a startup of passionate engineers and scientists that specializes in building the digital infrastructure to scale research analyses, taking away the distractions of data engineering, IT and procurement. We are looking for a summer intern to help us expand our product offerings by conducting qualitative research on the current state of workflow orchestration in research teams.

Location: Houston, TX (remote available)
Job Type: Internship (3 months, with the possibility of extension)
Compensation: $20-35/hr (depending on experience)

Role overview: As an intern, you will work closely with our team to understand the current state of research automation. You will be responsible for prompt engineering tools like DeepResearch to compile datasets of research teams and their current approaches to automating data preprocessing, as well as participating in discussions with research teams to understand their needs and challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Leverage LLMs to compile datasets of research teams and review articles to understand their current approaches to automation
  • Inspect existing open-source code repositories (e.g., GitHub) to identify common patterns and practices in research workflow orchestration
  • Participate in interviews and discussions with research teams
  • Compile and analyze data from interviews to identify trends and insights

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent understanding of the structure of research articles and the scientific method
  • Familiarity with LLMs and their applications in research
  • Familiarity with GitHub and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, Matlab)
