Postdoc Position at the Losin Social and Cultural Neuroscience Lab at Penn State

We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate to join the Social and Cultural Neuroscience Lab, directed by Elizabeth Losin, in the Department of Biobehavioral Health at Penn State University.  Our interdisciplinary research lab combines theory and methods from cultural anthropology, psychology and human social, cultural, and affective neuroscience (functional MRI and psychophysiology) with advanced analytic methods (e.g. machine learning and structural equation modeling). The research associate will be working on funded projects centered on understanding the sociocultural and neurobiological mechanisms underlying disparities in pain and pain treatment affecting women and minoritized ethnic and racial groups.

Candidates should have been awarded their Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, or a related field by the start of the position (Summer 2023). The ideal applicant will have experience analyzing fMRI data, strong programming and statistical skills,  and a well-developed publication record. The position also includes opportunities for professional development and unique interdisciplinary training that will be useful for a variety of academic and industry career paths.
