Full-Time Coordinator: SDN Lab @ Temple University

The Social Developmental Neuroscience Laboratory (PI Johanna Jarcho) at Temple University is hiring a full-time coordinator for an ongoing R01 study testing the relation between brain function, social memory biases, and the development of social anxiety in adolescents. We are looking for someone who can start in Spring or early Summer (exceptions may be made for exceptional applicants) and who will make a 2-year commitment to the position.

The applicant will oversee coordination of this study and help manage a team to ensure its ongoing success. This position is ideal for a highly motivated, outgoing, organized, and dedicated individual who plans to apply to graduate school in psychology or related fields.

They will participate in numerous aspects of research (e.g., oversee recruitment, study design and implementation, multimodal (fMRI, NM-MRI, behavioral, clinical) data acquisition, data QC, work on presentations/publications), contribute to day-to-day operations of the lab (e.g., various administrative tasks, oversight of RAs, IRB management), and perform other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related field by start date, at least 12 months of directly related lab experience (volunteer or paid), experience managing others (ideally in a lab setting but could be in another setting), and experience working with children or clinical populations.

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and collaborative skills.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Some experience managing or monitoring the work of others.
  • Comfortable leading meetings and giving presentations to small groups.

 

Preferred Prior Experience

  • Interfacing with REDCap
  • Collecting neuroimaging data
  • Interfacing with clinical and/or adolescent populations
  • Working with statistical computing software (e.g., R, SPSS)
  • Working with neuroimaging data (e.g., AFNI, SPM, FSL, Freesurfer), programming languages (e.g., Python, Matlab), and/or Linux environments.
