Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at St. Mary’s College of Maryland is accepting applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology, beginning August 2024. The position term is one year with the potential for renewal. Teaching responsibilities will include general courses in the psychology major (e.g., Intro to Psychology; Psychological Research, Analysis, and Writing; Scientific Writing and Professional Development), and breadth and topics courses in an area of specialization. A traditional course load is 3 courses per semester.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a doctorate in Psychology or related field (Ph.D. preferred, ABD acceptable at the time of application) and be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching. Applicants with expertise in cultural and/or community psychology are especially encouraged to apply. A commitment to culturally competent teaching/mentoring and fostering inclusive and equitable learning environments is essential. The development of a research program involving undergraduates is encouraged but not required. St. Mary’s College is committed to excellence in teaching and in undergraduate research.
