April 09, 2021

Post-Doctoral Fellowship Position at University of California, Davis in the Psychopathology and Emotional Processing (PEP) Lab (PI: Laura Tully)
The Psychopathology and Emotion Processing (PEP) Lab directed by Dr. Laura Tully at the UC Davis Imaging Research Center and Early Psychosis Program, is seeking to hire a full-time post-doctoral fellow (2-3 years) to work on an NIMH-funded project using the ABCD dataset to investigate sex and pubertal influences on developmental trajectories of brain networks involved in the development of psychosis (R01 MH125873). This project will leverage longitudinal task-based and resting state fMRI, psychosocial, sex hormone, and pubertal development data from the ABCD study to address study aims.
The post-doctoral fellow will be responsible for a range of research activities, including data analysis, manuscript preparation, grant writing, oral presentations, and supervision of research trainees. The position also includes opportunities to participate in clinical activities at the UCD Early Psychosis Program if consistent with the candidates training goals (health.ucdavis.edu/psychiatry/specialties/edapt/index.html). As part of post-doctoral fellowship training, the fellow will be supported in submission of their own independent grant proposals, including NIH research supplements to promote diversity in health-related research if eligible.
The nature of this project (secondary data analysis) allows candidates to work remotely if desired. Travel to research meetings, conferences, and trainings will be supported. Applicants must have a PhD in psychology, developmental neuroscience, cognitive neuroscience, computational neuroscience, or related field prior to the start date and a strong interest in neurodevelopmental models of psychopathology and/or sex, gender, and pubertal effects in neurodevelopment. Experience in neuroimaging data analysis using standard software packages (e.g., MATLAB, SPM, FSL, Freesurfer, HCP pipeline tools) is required; strong computational skills and/or expertise in programming in bash/shell, python, and/or related languages is preferred but not required.
Start date is flexible, earliest start date is April 1st 2021.
Salary is in line with NIH NRSA post-doctoral stipends and will be decided based on the candidate’s career stage. UC Davis offers full benefits including health, vision, dental, short- & long-term disability, and retirement contribution options.
Interested applicants should email their cover letter, CV, and contact information for three professional references directly to Dr. Laura Tully (lmtully@ucdavis.edu). Professional references will not be contacted until a formal interview is scheduled.
Please contact Dr. Tully for more information about the position, working in the PEP Lab, and/or working at UC Davis.
