Scientific Research Position in Affective Neuroscience, Belgium

One Scientific Research position in Affective Neuroscience (Ph.D.: 4 years/Postdoc/Scientific researcher: 3 years) is available at both the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences and Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacological Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in collaboration with the University of Ghent, (UGent) Belgium, Prof. James Gross at the university of Stanford. Content: The candidate works on the experimental investigation of bottom-up experiential emotion regulation complementary to top-down cognitive emotion regulation as a central working mechanism in experiential versus cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy on the behavioral and neuronal levels. The candidate will assess the respective behavioral and neurophysiological effects.

Profile: We are looking for a highly motivated applicant. The candidate has a master’s degree in psychology, biomedical, medical sciences, affective- and cognitive neuroscience, or related areas. He or she has an affinity for experimental research. English communication and writing skills are required. Methodological interest and autonomy are vital skills for this position.
