One Scientific Research position in Affective Neuroscience (PhD: 4 years/Postdoc/Scientific researcher: 3 years) is available at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Department of Clinical studies and Neuroimaging, VUB, Brussels, Belgium in collaboration with the Psychophysiology Lab headed by Prof. James Gross of the University of Stanford, US. Content: The candidate works on the experimental investigation of bottom-up experiential emotion regulation as a central working mechanism within experiential psychotherapy, complementary to top-down cognitive reappraisal as a central working mechanism in cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. The candidate will assess the respective behavioral and neurophysiological effects.

Profile: We are looking for a highly motivated applicant. The candidate has a master’s degree in psychology, biomedical, medical sciences, or affective- and cognitive neuroscience, or related areas. He or she has affinity with experimental research. English communication and writing skills are required. Methodological interest and autonomy are vital skills for this position.
