The Functional Imaging & Naturalistic Neuroscience (FINN) Lab (PI: Emily S. Finn, PhD) at Dartmouth College is seeking a full-time research assistant for a project investigating individual differences in social perception. The lab broadly seeks to answer questions such as, How can the same sensory information evoke different percepts in different people? This project will use a combination of behavioral, computational, eye-tracking, and neuroimaging techniques to understand where, when, how and why percepts of ambiguous social information diverge across individuals. You will have the opportunity to contribute to several projects running in the lab as well as to potentially lead some of your own.
Our lab is located in Dartmouth’s vibrant Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences in beautiful Hanover, NH, with many opportunities for internal and external collaboration. We maintain a supportive and friendly environment and are committed to mentoring junior scientists. This position is perfect for a recent college grad who is planning to apply to graduate school in psychology, neuroscience, or a related field. A two-year commitment is preferred but one-year commitments will also be considered.
Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in psychology, neuroscience, computer science, cognitive science, electrical or biomedical engineering, or a related area, and some research experience. Experience with fMRI and/or behavioral data collection, including large-scale online behavioral data collection, is desirable but not required. Programming skills such as Python, JavaScript, and/or web development are desirable but not required.
