Postdoctoral positions in the Multidisciplinary Research Training in Gerontology Program, The University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology

November 16, 2022

The University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology is soliciting applications for Postdoctoral positions in the Multidisciplinary Research Training in Gerontology Program.  Postdoctoral students should have a research focus on factors influencing human physical and mental health and aging. The aim of this program is to support emerging scientists who will do state-of-the-art work in their own area but also have knowledge of how multiple disciplines approach the study of aging. This program is supported by a grant from the Behavioral and Social Science Division of the National Institute on Aging to the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology Center at USC.  Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.   This program supports five postdoctoral trainees.  Trainees must have been awarded a PhD degree by the time they begin.  Trainees can be from a variety of fields: Gerontology, Demography, Sociology, Economics, Public Health, Medicine, Public Policy, Psychology, Biology, Social Work and Neuroscience.  Trainees are mentored in research by two members of the training faculty.  The usual length of traineeship is 2 years.  These awards consist of stipends, tuition (if needed), health insurance, and a travel allowance.

Please address questions to Linda Hall (), Mara Mather (), or Jennifer Ailshire ().

Applicants should provide a letter of application, a statement of research, a C.V., and letters of reference.  We expect potential trainees to have made contact with the training director or a mentor on the grant who will support the application.  See the list of mentors here:
