Full-time Research Assistant: UCLA Computational Social Neuroscience Lab

The UCLA Computational Social Neuroscience Lab (CSNL; PI: Carolyn Parkinson) is seeking a full-time research assistant to join our team.

Our lab studies how the human brain tracks, encodes, shapes, and is shaped by the structure of the social world. To do so, we take a multidisciplinary approach that integrates perspectives and methods from cognitive neuroscience, social network analysis, and psychology. This position is ideal for individuals hoping to gain research experience before applying to graduate programs in psychology, neuroscience, and related fields. Primary responsibilities will relate to coordinating and conducting research studies, such as designing and implementing experiments, programming tasks, behavioral and fMRI data collection, processing and analyzing data, subject recruitment, literature reviews, and assisting with manuscript preparation.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in neuroscience, psychology, cognitive science, computer science, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, previous research in psychology or cognitive neuroscience, and strong technical skills. Previous experience with MRI data collection and/or analysis is preferred but not required.
