Full-Time Project Manager Position, UCLA

Social and Affective Neuroscience Lab, PI: Naomi Eisenberger

The Social and Affective Neuroscience lab at UCLA (PI: Naomi Eisenberger) is seeking to fill the position of a full-time project manager to begin in summer/fall 2022. The lab uses multiple methods, including functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), physiological assessments, self-reports, and behavioral observations to study social relationships and both mental and physical health.

The project manager will help to oversee a large, clinical trial investigating how a prosocial intervention affects well-being, health, and neural activity in older adults. The individual in this position will be involved in all aspects of research, including: recruiting and screening subjects, preparing questionnaires online, scheduling and assisting with running subjects in the fMRI scanner, overseeing a 6-week writing intervention, collecting blood spots for later analysis, maintaining fund accounts for subject payment, interacting with subjects, organizing research assistants, and maintaining collected data. The project manager will work closely with the Principal Investigator to make sure the study runs smoothly.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field, prior experience in a psychology or neuroscience lab, and a 1-2 year commitment. A successful candidate should be reliable, self-motivated, and mature and have excellent organizational abilities and effective written and oral communication skills.
