The Department of Psychology at Mississippi State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in our APA-accredited clinical psychology Ph.D. program. The anticipated start date is August 16, 2024. We seek a clinical scientist with a Ph.D. degree from an APA or PCSAS accredited program to join our cadre of research-active faculty. Area of research is open. The successful applicant will be expected to develop an active program of research at Mississippi State, apply for research funding, and contribute to our graduate and undergraduate teaching mission.
Our department houses doctoral programs in clinical psychology and cognitive science, as well as a large undergraduate major (http://www.psychology.msstate.edu). We are located in Starkville, MS, which is one of the three cities making up the Golden Triangle region (population 128,000). The Golden Triangle is an ethnically diverse community with an excellent quality of life, a nearby modern airport, and many available outdoor activities. Starkville is an easy drive from Memphis, New Orleans, and Birmingham. Mississippi State University is a member of the Southeastern Conference, with a vibrant academic and sports culture.
